Joe Shaneyfelt assumed the newly created role of General Counsel and Director of Business Affairs in September 2025. In this capacity, he oversees the legal and strategic dimensions across the company’s real estate portfolio, including negotiations with city, state, and federal authorities. He also plays a key role in shaping the company’s strategic direction and evaluating future business opportunities.

Joe joins the company after five years at Greenberg Traurig, LLP, a global leader in real estate law. Joe handled a wide variety of cases and transactions spanning municipal, state, federal, and international law related to real estate development, multifamily housing, industrial facilities, data centers, U.S. construction law, complex commercial contracts, intellectual property, constitutional law, and regulatory compliance.

After graduating from Benedictine College and Baylor Law School, Joe’s early career included a prestigious federal clerkship, and a fellowship with the Texas Attorney General. He is recognized as a “Texas Rising Star” by Super Lawyers and named among the “Ones to Watch” by Best Lawyers.
