The Right of Way acquisition led by Collin County will expand Boorman Lane (FM 546) from a two-lane rural roadway into a four-lane divided major artery, with provisions for future expansion to six lanes. The entire project spans from Airport Drive in McKinney to U.S. 380 at Boorman Lane in Princeton. The thoroughfare addresses regional growth, improved infrastructure, and enhanced mobility for residents and businesses in Collin County.
Collin County is finalizing land acquisitions for the thoroughfare to McKinney. Phase I—the eastern segment (FM 546 / CR 400)—extends across the City of Lowry Crossing and Princeton city limits, as well as their ETJs, from Bridgefarmer Road to U.S. 380. Phase II—the western segment (FM 546 Extension)—focuses on identifying and environmentally clearing a recommended alternative for future reconstruction and realignment. Construction is scheduled to begin in spring 2026; however, this timeline may be delayed if utility relocation is not completed as planned.
The U.S.
Census Bureau published in May 2025 that Princeton,
Texas is the fastest-growing city in the United States, with its
population surging by an astonishing 30.6% between July 2023 and July
2024, increasing from approximately 28,000 to over 37,000 residents.
This rapid growth, fueled by affordability and location
within Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex, has transformed Princeton from a small
rural town into the nation’s fastest growing city.
Marion Peeschla, Financial Analyst of Land Investments at International Capital LLC, led the negotiations and successfully completed the transaction. With this acquisition International Capital continues to manage the remaining 22 acres of the initial 33 acre-site.
