The team at International Capital LLC is pleased to announce that Andreas Bremer was awarded the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany on May 19, 2026.

The award was presented by the German Consul General in Houston, Kai Hennig, during a ceremony held at the German International School of Dallas. The Order of Merit is the highest honor the Federal Republic of Germany can bestow for outstanding service to society and the common good.

For many years, Andreas Bremer has played a defining role in the growth of International Capital LLC as its President & CEO. Under his leadership, the company has successfully established itself as an internationally active investment boutique.

Beyond his professional achievements, Andreas Bremer has been deeply committed to civic and charitable causes. As a Delegate and Knight of Justice of the Johanniter Order in the United States, he supports humanitarian projects, education initiatives, and international cooperation. A particular focus of his work has been supporting nursing and healthcare scholarship programs at universities across the United States.

Through these efforts, more than $1 million has been raised for scholarships benefiting future healthcare professionals.

Education has also been a major focus of his volunteer work. In 2009, Andreas Bremer founded the German International School of Dallas to provide high-quality bilingual education for German-speaking and internationally minded families in North Texas while promoting German language and culture in the United States. Today, the school offers full-day German-language instruction through sixth grade and has become an important institution within the German-American community in the Dallas region.

His previous civic engagement also includes serving as a founding member of the German Church in Atlanta and as Director of the Texas Wartburg Chapter from 2003 to 2008, where he organized lectures, study trips, and exchanges between German and American leaders. Since 2007, he has also served as an independent director and chairman of the special committee of Lightstone Value Plus Real Estate Investment Trust V, Inc. and received the “Outstanding Directors Award” for publicly traded companies in 2014.

Andreas Bremer additionally served for more than eight years as Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany in Dallas, where he worked to strengthen German-American relations in business, culture, and education. In this role, he supported German companies entering the U.S. market, accompanied delegation visits, and promoted cultural and educational initiatives that strengthened transatlantic cooperation.

He also serves on the investment committee overseeing the endowment assets of the Wartburg Lutheran Seminary in Dubuque. The awarding of the Cross of the Order of Merit underscores the importance of collaborative international cooperation and the strong economic and cultural ties between Germany and the United States.
